In today’s class, I worked on the “HelloPurr” tutorial. In the tutorial I was to build an app to make a cat meow when its touched. Although I didn’t finish the tutorial, I have almost a full understanding of App Inventor. I hope to finish with all the tutorials either today or tomorrow. Being as though I couldn’t in class, I will finish them at home.
Today, I worked on tutorial one. In the tutorial I was to attempt to make a pic call. I’m still not sure what a pic call is, and i haven’t completed the tutorial to have a full understanding of it. Since i didnt finish the tutorial i will have to finish at home. By time I finish the tutorial, I hope to have the full understanding of what a piccall is and what it is.
Today Hamza and I worked on another Scratch task. In this task we had to work on making the sprite move in a different direction. We wanted to get extra points so we worked on making the sprite jump from one place to another. Although we couldn’t finish the task, we made the sprite move in different directions. Next class all we will have to work on is making the sprite jump. Making the sprite jump will be a challenging task because there is not a variable or motion that it labeled “jump”.
On Thursday, February 4, 2011, Hamza, Darnell, and I worked on Scratch. Our mission was to move any sprite from one place, then back to its original place. The sprite also had to say five things about themselves. We had four sprites, one was a female, the second was a cat, the third was a colorful monster, and the fourth was a sprite we drew. The mission wasn’t difficult, however it was a challenge. We had to work hard and together in order to complete this task. After completing the task we presented it to the class. We then received feedback, comments, and questions from the class.
